At LaserMaster can laser and plasma cut various sheet metal materials to fit your needs.

We can also price to cut only if you wish to supply the material. 

We can handle sheets up to  3000 mm ×  1500 mm with a maximum cutting area of 2980 mm x 1480 mm (material dependant).

Laser Cut Mild and Carbon Steel

All types laser/plasma cut – CR4, S275, S355, Cor-Ten, zintec and galvanised. We probably laser cut & bend more mild steel sheet than any other material including durbar/checker plate. The cut quality is excellent, the level of detail achievable very good, and the versatility of the material means it is used across a vast range of applications. Mild steel is an ideal sheet metal for general fabrications. Mild steel is a low cost material making it an ideal choice prototyping. In addition to this we also cut Cor-Ten, galvanised and zintec.

How Big? Up to 3000 mm x 1500 mm
How Small? Very small – but cut quality will deteriorate on thicker sheet
How Thick? Laser cut up to 25 mm and plasma cut up to 70 mm
How Thin? 0.9 mm
How Detailed Can it Be? Detail can be less than the material thickness but will deteriorate on thicker material
Cutting Tolerance

< 3 mm – +/- 0.1 mm

3-6 mm – +/- 0.15 mm

6-12 mm – +/- 0.2 mm

> 12 mm – +/- 0.3 mm

What You Should Know The cut edge can become hard – the higher the carbon content the harder the cut edge and more striation marks

Laser Cut Stainless Steel

All types/grades laser/plasma cut – 430, 304, 316 in various finishes laser cut stainless steel is another very common application. The cut quality is excellent; using nitrogen assist gas the level of detail achievable is higher than mild steel. It’s more expensive than mild steel, but its decorative finishes combined with its corrosion resistance make it widely used across many industries. We laser cut stainless steel for industries ranging from sign makers through yacht & boat builders to pharmaceutical plant manufacturers, and just about every industry in between.

What You Should Know

The thicker the material the more striation marks. Mirror and brushed are available in 316 grade up to 6mm and is only on one face.

Laser Cut Aluminium & Alloy

Aluminium is a lightweight material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is commonly used for manufacturing architectural flashings, tanks, vehicle tool chests, street furniture and art installations. Aluminium sheet is an extremely versatile product.

Our standard grades are 5083/5251 but we can also source 1050,6082 and Checker Plate on request.

Laser Cut Brass and Copper

All types laser cut – CZ108, C160 and more are available

Laser cutting brass and copper and other copper alloys such as bronze is difficult process on standard co2 laser cutting machines, this was due to the thermal conductivity and reflective properties of these materials that can severely damage traditional co2 lasers. But with fibre optic laser technology we are able to cut brass, copper and bronze up to 10 mm thick without a problem. These materials have many uses from engineering components, model making, to artistic applications.

We stock brass up to 5 mm and copper up to 4 mm thicker grades available at request.

Up to 3000 mm × 1500 mm but standard sheet sizes are 2000 mm x 1000 mm

How Small?

Very small – but cut quality will deteriorate on thicker sheet

How Thick?

Laser cut up to 10 mm 

How Thin?

0.55 mm

How Detailed Can it Be?

Detail can be less than the material thickness but will deteriorate on thicker material
