Fibre Laser Cutting for Sheet Metal

Bystonic BySprint 6 kW 3015 & ByStar 10 kW 3015 Fibre Optic Laser

These high performance machines are capable of laser cutting aluminium and stainless steel up to 30 mm thick, mild steel up to 25 mm, 15 mm brass & 12 mm copper.  Both lasers can handle a maximum sheet size of 3000 mm x 1500 mm (material supply dependant).  Our lasers are fitted with ByTrans Extended BySprint automatic sheet feeders. This means that we have capabilities for long batch runs, cutting 24/7 maximising both time and cost efficiency.

The advantages of fibre optic laser cutting:
  • Speed – up to 3 times faster than standard Co2 lasers.
  • More economical to run –  less consumables and faster cutting.
  • Less heat distortion.
  • Fibre optic lasers can cut sheet brass and copper.


The different shapes we can cut are only limited by what you can draw. There are different formats of drawings that we can work from preferably .dwg or .dxf files but we can also work from a template or hand sketches (drawing fees may apply). For custom designs, please email

Plasma Cutting versus Laser Cutting

Typically, plasma cutting machines are more widely used to manipulate sheet metal and plate that is thicker.  Most modern plasma machines can cut through metal up to 70 mm thick.

Laser cutting machines are multipurpose and can undertake a wide variety of metalwork jobs. Although capable of cutting up to 30 mm sheets (material dependant) they are typically more suitable for thinner sheets that require a neater cut and especially for the finer small parts that we create from washers down parts for jewellery making.

By combining laser cutting machine principles with the latest high-definition plasma cutting technology, the Lightning HD has evolved over the years to become the reference standard for high-precision plasma cutting.

Advanced cutting technologies and intelligent systems provide us with precision control to produce clean, precise and repeatable cuts. This also aides LaserMaster to provide a faster cut which helps productivity with the bonus of reduced operating costs which also benefits our customers budgets. Good for cleaner cuts on thicker flat sheets of stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. The flat bed is 3 m x 1.5 m and is capable of cutting some materials up to 70 mm thick.

Nitrogen Generation

Atlas Copco Nitrogen Generator

Up until the installation of the Atlas Copco Nitrogen Generator, LaserMaster was reliant on bulk deliveries of nitrogen from a gas supplier, tankers would visit to top up a nitrogen silo. 

The change over to a nitrogen generator has meant that we have reduced our carbon footprint, as we now generate our own onsite and so eliminating the need for an external supply.

Laser-cutting metal relies on a continuous supply of nitrogen gas as a blanket to prevent burning during the process. Purity of the gas is an important factor in overcoming the tendency for discolouration of laser-cut edges and to provide a high-quality finish. The generator delivers 42 Nm3/h of nitrogen and 480 Nm3 of storage at 99.99% purity which is used by our two Fibre Optic Laser cutters. Please follow link-
