LaserMaster Ltd Terms and Conditions

Please note-

  • Throughout this document “You” refers to the customer and “We/Us” refers to the company- LaserMaster LTD.
  • Acceptance by LaserMaster Ltd of any instruction from you shall be upon these terms and shall override any other terms and conditions incorporated by you in your instructions or consultation unless previously agreed in writing and confirmed by the Managing Director of LaserMaster Ltd.
  • We aim to be open and transparent throughout our relationship with our customers hence we strongly advise that you read our Terms and conditions so that you are aware of our expectations of you as the customer and what you can expect from us as a company.
  • At LaserMaster Ltd we endeavour to provide the best possible service. However, there may be times of misinterpretation of communicated information. Therefore, we advise every customer to carefully read their quotes to ensure that all details are correct, we will assume that once payment has been made this has been done by you.
  • Should any issues arise once goods are received, please contact us immediately and we will make every effort to work with you to rectify the situation. Please bear in mind that if the issue is that incorrect information had been given to us then the reworking costs will be met by the customer. If the fault lies within LaserMaster Ltd then we will replace/rework at our cost.
  • Timeline for reporting issues of quality or quantity is 30 days from receipt of goods (Consumers Act 2015) after this period you will not be legally entitled to a full refund if you deem your goods to be faulty, anything left longer than this time stated will be the customers responsibility not LaserMaster Ltd.

1. Proceeding with a quote

a) LaserMaster is a manufacturer of goods/ products designed by others- therefore we are unable to advise, suggest or select the correct materials/ grades or thicknesses. The onus is on the creator of the designs to ascertain correct materials etc that are fit for the purpose of the product. LaserMaster Ltd takes no responsibility for designing.

b) LaserMaster Ltd will assume, unless otherwise instructed, that the drawing supplied is 1:1 and dimensions are in MM. Please ensure that you have correctly selected the dimensions of any holes that are required especially if further processes are needed e.g. tapping, drilling or countersinking We will cut precisely to the drawings supplied without modification unless instructed by our customer in writing via email. If you call to make changes our sales team will requests alterations to be given in writing for traceability purposes- this is to protect both customer and company to avoid any misinterpretations.

c) Quotations are valid for 14 days unless otherwise agreed.

d) Initial prices are for Laser cutting only- other services, upon request, will be added as a separate process and will be clearly denoted on your quotation. Please note- if it’s not on your quote we will not be doing any further processes- checking your quotation is vital!

e) Please note-It is the customers responsibility to check all details of the quote before making payment/proceeding with the order (or Purchase Order for Accounts customers). It is assumed by us that once payment has been made that all details have been checked are correct as to the requirements of the customer.

f) Should there be an error, before payment, please contact us for an amended quote- which will again need checking for all details before proceeding with payment.

g) We reserve the right to revise prices if only part of the quotation is ordered due to set up costs.

h) Lead times are given as working days (Monday to Friday for LaserMaster Ltd). These are approximate times as sometimes there will be extenuating circumstances that will be out of LaserMasters control.

2. Supply and Quality

a) We are primarily a Laser cutting company and so your items will not be fully finished unless this is a service you wish to have in addition and therefore will form a part of your quotation.

b) If you require a specific finish please discuss this with one of our sales team who will advise you of our capabilities.

For further clarification of cutting information and images please see our “Cutting Expectations” document on our website.

c) During the cutting process laser cut parts need to be “tagged” into the sheet to avoid movement whilst cutting and also to avoid losing the part in the machine, this will leave behind a tiny “pip” or burr that we do not remove, unless requested and quoted to remove as an additional service.

d) We cannot guarantee the cut quality or accuracy for details that are smaller than the thickness it is cut in. To clarify a hole needs to equal or be more than the thickness of sheet that it is cut from.

e) There are cutting tolerances on our Lasers, a general guide for these can be found in the “Materials section” of our website at www.lasermaster.co.uk

f) Please ensure that you have chosen the correct material for your end product- there is potential for bowing/distortion due to thickness/material choice to parts with multiple cut outs. Again, material choice is up to you, the customer, as LaserMaster is not held responsible for design elements of your components.

g) Furthermore, when selecting your material choice please be aware of the properties of materials and how they can alter in appearance and strength due to processes such as through heat or being folded/bent. Certain material choices will also have an appearance of rusting if not coated. LaserMaster will not be held responsible for your choice in materials.

There is a chance of your parts having light scratches on them, this is due to the bed of the Laser being made of copper slats and thus metal to metal may cause light scratches. While every effort is made to avoid this, we cannot guarantee that both sides will be supplied scratch free. For further clarification of cutting information and images please see our “Cutting Expectations” document on our website.

h) Lead times are generally, 5-7 working days from point of order/payment. Please be aware that this may extend due to the amount of processes and quantity of your order. Should multiple services be required your lead time will be discussed with you at the time of your initial quote.

i) We offer a “Fast Track Cutting” service with a fixed fee, if ordered and payment has cleared before 1pm to be cut the following day. This service is for fast tracking cutting services only and may not be available to orders of a significant quantity. Another factor that may affect this service is whether we have the material required or quantity in stock. Please enquire before payment is made with one of our sales team.

j) Free issue materials – if you want to provide your own materials it is therefore your responsibility to supply good quality materials that are suitable for Laser cutting and your project intended. LaserMaster reserves the right to refuse to use materials that we suspect could cause damage to our employees or machinery, should damages be sustained by either, we will seek to be reimbursed for any costs incurred. Items cut from Free issue material will not be removed from the main sheet and will be returned to the customer as a raw cut without further finishing processes unless otherwise agreed with initial contact and subsequently within original quote. LaserMaster will not be held liable for replacing Free issue materials if there are complications that are out of our control, for example movement of material whilst cutting and thus cause the order to be unfinished or incomplete. LaserMaster will need to inform the customer of the replacement sheet required. Also please discuss with our sales team the size of your Free Issue materials as there are minimum and maximum dimension issues.

3. Additional/Secondary services

a) Scanner- We have an Inspec vision scanner that can take your card, wooden or metal template and can be scanned or scaled to create a digital file for us to able to create a quote for you. Please note this is an additional service and so there will be a charge for our technician’s time. (These drawings can be stored on a USB memory stick- please ask one of sales team for further information).

b) Bending and folding on one of our Press brakes. We will use the bend development information provided on initial drawings that are provided to us by the customer. LaserMaster is not responsible in creating the bend developments from flat drawings itself.

c) Our welder/fabricators will use the drawings supplied to create and produce our customers designs. Again, we are not designers so will not be held responsible for any fabrication issues that occur due to design errors.

d) LaserMaster will supply parts in raw cut condition unless initially requested and agreed upon during the quotation period.

e) We can offer machining processes this needs to be requested and agreed upon during the quotation period.

f) Other services such as Powder Coating and Galvanising are fulfilled by a third party and so LaserMaster Ltd takes no responsibility for damages/errors that may occur during these processes. However, we will ultimately do our best to fulfil all our customers’ requirements to the best of our abilities and keep our customers fully informed should any issues arise.

4. Copyrights, Intellectual property rights and confidentiality

a) If a customer requests that we work with copyrighted designs, owned by either the client or a third party, it will be assumed by LaserMaster Ltd that the client has pertained and been granted relevant written permissions. LaserMaster Ltd will therefore not be liable for Copyright breach when acting upon the customers instructions. This includes any claim made against our customers for actual or alleged infringement of a third party’s intellectual property rights arising out of, or in connection with, the manufacture, supply or use of goods or use or the supply of goods. Please refer to the Registered Designs Act 1949, Trades mark Act 1994 or Copyright, Designs and Patent Act 1988 for further clarifications.

b) LaserMaster Ltd will make provisions to ensure that our clients design and communications are kept entirely confidential. We will act as if a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is in place and in most case negating any requirement for additional NDA documentation to be signed. However, should you need an NDA to be signed for your own companies’ documentation, we will be happy to sign an NDA as they encompass our companies embedded core ethics and values.

c) We may from time to time use images for our social media or website of products however we will not disclose any further customer details unless discussed and agreed upon prior to publication. Should you not want images of your work to be posted digitally please inform us. It is your right to withdraw your permission at any time, please contact us and we will remove any specified images.

5.Dispute Resolutions, Replacements and Refunds

a) Dispute Resolution -Throughout the completion of contract with our customers should there be any issues that arise we will make every effort to resolve them and negotiate with our clients as promptly as we can without the involvement of a third party.

b) Once goods have been received, if you are not satisfied please contact us immediately. Should the issue lay at fault of LaserMaster Ltd due to a fault on our machinery, incorrect processing, quantity issues or wrong materials used we in the first instance offer a replacement. You have up to 30 days from receipt of goods (Consumers Act 2015) after this period you will not be legally entitled to a full refund if you deem your goods to be faulty. During this period, it is important to communicate with our sales team who will help to assess whether goods need to be returned to LaserMaster Ltd and they will be able to instruct you as to how the return carriage costs will be covered. Generally, if the fault/issue lies with incorrect drawings/information given to us, carriage will be covered by the customer. However, if after assessment it is decided that the fault lays with us, LaserMaster Ltd , you will be credited for your next transaction the cost of the carriage. This will be assessed on an individual basis as we do so much bespoke manufacturing.

c) If a fault is due to unexpected results, when a quotation has not been fully checked and detected an issue then a cost for reworking and re-cutting will be passed onto the client as the company will be not held at fault for the failure of the part of the customer.

d) However, if the fault lies within the company and if a replacement is not possible, a refund will be paid within 28 days of refund confirmation.

e) LaserMaster Ltd will not be held liable for any claims due to injury/ death/ loss of earnings due to design faults of products produced at our premises as we are not to be held responsible for any design as they come direct from our customers.

f) For further information of your rights as a consumer and our obligations as a provider please refer to the Consumers Act 2015.

6. Consequential loss and Variation

a) LaserMaster will not be held liable for any consequential losses- our lead times are an estimated time as there are many variables which could affect our lead times. Therefore, LaserMaster Ltd will not be held financially liable for failure to meet lead times and any subsequent losses that are amounted due to penalty clauses set by our customers or their clients.

b) The only exemption to this ruling is if it has been specifically agreed in writing and has been signed off prior to work commencing by the Managing Director of LaserMaster Ltd. No person or agent of LaserMaster Ltd has the authority to alter nor amend these conditions in any way, unless it has been countersigned by the Managing Director of LaserMaster Ltd.

e) We aim for goods to be cut and delivered within 5-10 working days. Please note- this is not an indefectible timeline as it is contingent upon quantity of items and amount of processes involved within your order.
